Mixing of High & Low viscosity Fluids:

• Start with low viscosity fluids as it will require smaller machine. Addition of high viscosity fluid should be at flow suction of impeller.

Particle Size Reduction:

• Best particle size reduction is achieved at higher hydraulic shear rate and thick product conditions. Add the fluid for dilution when the desired dispersion is achieved.

Emulsion Preparation:

• Increasing the shear zone and applying maximum shear to disperse phase, which is added to flow suction of impeller?

Pre Milling & Homogenization:

• This will reduce overall power consumption to get the desired particle.

Air free Product:

• Use pipeline homogenizer and vessel under vacuum to reduce the air intake into the product.

Low Viscosity Fluids

• Hydrofoils are most efficient impeller technology for overall mixing, reactions, heat & mass transfer, solid suspension etc.

Medium viscosity and transition zone mixing

• Counter flow impeller technology is most widely used.
• CFS: Counter flow standard
• CFC: Counter flow C Type
• CFH: Counter flow helix

Impeller sweep recommended is from 70% of vessel diameter to 95%. Customized design is available for lower clearance and wall scrapper.

High Viscosity and Laminar zone mixing

• Anchor with or without gate are made to suit the vessel contour and generates flow in viscous media for better heat transfer. In case mixing is also important (along with heat transfer) than more than two arm or helical ribbons are recommended.
• Helical ribbons are most efficient in laminar mixing zone. These impellers are made in vessel contour / shape and used with or without auger to achieve the result.
• Customized designs are available to meet the challenging mixing need of chemical and process industries.
